i thought black widows were black...all over and how could you c it's adomen! it not even a centimeter long!

8i doubt they run, if by run you mean all legs coming off the ground at some point. unless you count jumping. there are probably some old movies of insects somewhere. there used to be a debate about whether all four legs of a galloping horse ever leave the ground. they made some high-speed movies to prove that all four legs do come off the ground. that was high-tech back then!
Please change your question. It is factually incorrect. The Pholcidae, are true spiders, and at least in North America and Australia, the common names for some of the species in this family is 'daddy long-legs.'

Daddy long-legs are all of the above, except Mantids. There are three species which go by the name "Daddy long-legs." Crane flies (insects), "harvetmen" (which is what the poll is asking about), and cellar spiders (spiders, obviously). So your answer will vary depending on where you're from.
To me (a brit) a Daddy Long Legs is a crane fly, an insect. I've voted down this question.

Those are Crane Flies I think, they have a daddy-long-leg appearance but only 6 legs (and of course, they have wings too).

Yes, spiders are one type of arachnid, but there are many types of arachnids that aren't spiders, like ticks, mites, scorpians, and daddy long-legs.
Apparently, there are two different species being referred to as Daddy Long-legs, and out here in California, we are talking about a spider.
That's curious. I'm sure there are dozens of species of daddy-long legs, but if what you're saying is true it is possible there is a spider which has the same common name for some reason. Any chance you could find out the exact species you're referring to? Hopefully the picture clarifies the critter I'm reffering to at any rate. If the "daddy-long legs" you are thinking of looks like the thing in the picture it's possible people just think it is a spider, however, since that is a common mistake.
The daddy-long-legs in Australia are definitely spiders, they spin webs.
